Meet Eddie: 10 Things You Might Not Know

I’ve always approached Holly & Oak as having a love triangle at its core. That triangle wouldn’t be complete without Eddie.

Fierce, loyal, and a little haunted, Eddie brings grit and gravity to every scene she walks into. She’s the storm on the horizon and the shelter after it passes. Here are ten things you may not know about her:

  1. Her greatest fear?
That she’ll never find her person. She’s so focused on searching that she might be overlooking someone already standing beside her who is ready to support her, challenge her, and maybe even love her.

  2. Her secret?
She sleeps with a night light. Not because she fears the dark, but because she knows what can hide inside it.

  3. Her comfort food?
A lobster roll from Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls. The good ones are over too fast, just like the quiet moments in her life.

  4. Her most treasured memory?
A night on Rowan’s couch where it was just the two of them with beer and tacos and no world to save or monsters to chase. A rare moment of peace in the chaos of their lives.

  5. Her moral compass? Iron-clad.
Eddie’s not one to pick a fight, but she won’t back down from one either. Her loyalty to justice and her cause is absolute, and it often brings her head-to-head with Ainsley.

  6. Her Faerie power?
She can see what others cannot, the truths hidden in plain sight, lies lurking behind kind eyes. It’s a powerful skill for a detective, but it’s only the surface. In Book Three, someone challenges her to look deeper and unlock more than she ever imagined.

  7. Her upbringing?
Eddie was raised in the human world, always hiding what she truly was. Nolan taught her to blend in, to never show her Faerie side. But her heart pulled her toward law enforcement to protect the very world that demanded her silence.

  8. Her state in Book One?
When we first meet her, Eddie is broken. She believes she’s failed Rowan, not just as her partner and heir to the throne, but as someone she loved. She thinks she’s hit rock bottom. She’s wrong.

  9. Her biggest regret?
Feeling like a stranger among her own kind. Ainsley and Agatha grew up within the Faerie fold. Eddie’s knowledge is second-hand pieced together from Nolan’s scraps and her own instincts.

  10. What gives her hope?
Kate. Always Kate. Where Ainsley sees a flawed heir, Eddie sees potential, which is bright and uncompromising. She believes that Kate on the throne could be the beginning of something better.

Eddie’s journey has been one of identity, loyalty, and longing for connection, for truth, for belonging. She’s rough around the edges, yes, but that’s exactly what makes her so human, even when she’s not.

So tell me—whose story are you most looking forward to in Book Three? Is it Eddie’s path, Ainsley’s struggle, or Kate’s rise? Let me know in the comments or come chat with me over on Instagram or Threads.
